Hurricane Shrouded Sky Content Drop

The most recent expansion for Embark Studios’ extraction survival title launched on February 24, 2026. Titled “Shrouded Sky,” this major arc raiders update introduces the Hurricane map condition to the Rust Belt region. This environmental shift brings ferocious winds and reduced visibility that fundamentally change tactical movement and combat encounters. Raiders must now contend with flying debris that can degrade shields and shifting wind speeds that either boost or drain stamina depending on their direction. 

New Mechanical Threats Firefly and Comet

Alongside the storm, two deadly new ARC enemy types have been introduced to increase the pressure during extractions. The Firefly is an aerial drone equipped with a devastating flamethrower, capable of burning unprepared Raiders who fail to find adequate cover. Complementing this aerial threat is the Comet, a ground-bound spherical machine that patrols the surface peacefully until it locks onto a nearby target. Once triggered, the Comet acts as a suicide unit, exploding with massive force upon impact. 

The Surgeon Raider Deck and Customization

A significant addition to character progression arrives in the form of a free Raider Deck called The Surgeon. This deck allows players to unlock specialized medical-themed cosmetic outfits and equipment, reflecting the desperate nature of survival in Speranza. Furthermore, this update marks the official introduction of character facial hair customization. While basic stubble is available for free, more elaborate full beards can be obtained through the in-game store or by completing specific deck challenges.

Seasonal Projects and Weather Monitoring

To engage with the new narrative elements, players can participate in a new seasonal project led by the NPC Shani. This five-stage mission requires scavengers to brave the hurricane and collect specific materials to build a Weather Monitoring System. Completing this project rewards players with gameplay items, 250 Raider Tokens, and a unique Anemometer backpack charm. This questline provides a structured goal while exploring the high-risk environments unearthed by the shifting storm. 

Expedition Window and Permanent Rewards

Following the launch of the arc raiders update, a new Expedition window is scheduled from February 25 to March 1, 2026. During this limited-time event, players can earn permanent account bonuses that persist through future progress resets. These rewards include up to five additional skill points and permanent increases to stash space, capped at 24 extra slots. For this window, the stash value requirement for maximum rewards has been adjusted to three million Coins to remain accessible to active participants. 

Map Expansion and Gameplay Adjustments

The Dam Battlegrounds area has received a significant expansion, featuring new interior sections and a fresh set of localized quests. This update also includes vital balancing tweaks, such as making smoke and gas disperse faster under high-wind conditions. These changes are part of the broader “Escalation” roadmap for 2026, aimed at increasing the complexity of the Rust Belt through April. Players are encouraged to adapt their loadouts to handle both the new ARC units and the unpredictable environmental physics. 

Commercial Success and Future Roadmap

Since its release on October 30, 2025, the game has achieved substantial commercial milestones, selling over 12 million copies. The player base remains robust, with concurrent counts frequently exceeding 200,000 on Steam alone. Embark Studios has committed to a regular cadence of weekly hotfixes and substantial monthly content drops through the remainder of the year. This sustainable growth ensures that the reclaimation of Earth remains a vibrant and evolving experience for the global community.
